The Stewart's Automotive Group is seeking a competent professional with a strong work ethic and a proven track record of success to fill the position of :
COSTING OFFICER
POSITION SUMMARY: Together with the Costing Team, the incumbent will be required to perform tasks related to the posting, analysing, and collection of outstanding balances while ensuring all data related to the costing of motor vehicles, equipment and parts are accurate and current. Assist the team to meet the key objective which is to ensure all assets sold are posted in a timely and accurate manner, while observing confidentiality and adherence to the Stewarts Automotive Group Employee Handbook.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily maintenance of the cost component accounts for assigned divisions to facilitate the accurate provision of costs relating to the sale of motor vehicles, equipment, and motorbikes. (To be completed by the third working day of the following month).
- Collection of costing information from the Sales Department.
- Verifying the accuracy of the information provided.
- Resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Recording of the cost build up for each unit sold.
- Daily recording of vehicle and equipment unit costs (CIF) for assigned divisions ( to be completed upon arrival of units to the island).
- Securing relevant shipping documents on a timely basis.
- Ensuring the CIF values for units are accurate and keyed to the correct cost accounts.
- Completing unit sales invoices for assigned divisions daily.
- Posting each unit sale to the general ledger.
- Lending assistance to other Divisions within the SAG Costing Unit, when required.
- Entering Customs import entries for assigned divisions daily.
- Posting each unit sale to the general ledger
- Lending assistance to other Divisions within SAG Costing Unit, when required
- Accurate reconciliation of the following accoutns for assigned divisions monthly: Unit Inventory Account, Foreign Payables (Units and Parts) Account, Units and Parts In Transit Account, Warranty Account.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive costing principles and practices.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
