Job Responsibilities
Business Development, Commercial Strategy & Market Expansion
- Identify, evaluate and develop business opportunities in key food ingredients and chemical sectors (e.g. detergents, disinfectants and personal care, agriculture, cosmetics, water treatment, etc.).
- Expand customer base across target markets and product segments. Monitor market trends, analyse competitors, and propose commercial strategies.
- Participate in trade shows, product launches, training sessions, and other promotional activities. Ensure alignment with marketing campaigns and client communications.
- Provide accurate forecasting, sales performance reporting, and pipeline tracking.
Customer Management and Advisory (Key Account Management)
- Provide specialized technical advice to clients on product use, applications, and benefits.
- Conduct technical and commercial visits to assess customer need, satisfaction, upselling opportunities and present tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with both existing and potential clients ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Manage pricing, margins, and contract terms in line with profitability goals.
Sales Management & Execution
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure and post-sales follow-up.
- Prepare quotations, technical proposals, and commercial offers in coordination with Supply Chain and General Manager.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Financial and Commercial Oversight
- Oversee regional travel and sales budgets and ensure optimal resource allocation.
Operations & Internal Coordination
- Track and follow up on orders, deliveries, and collections in collaboration with logistics and customer service support and administration.
- Record and update all commercial activities in the company’s SAP-based CRM system.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to local regulations, including food safety and chemical compliance standards.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including ethical sales practices and corporate governance.
Account Management, Brand Representation & Corporate Identity
- Represent company’s values, professionalism, and brand image in all client and industry interactions.
- Promote a customer-centric, solution-oriented mindset throughout the regional sales approach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chemical Engineering or Sciences, International Trade, Marketing, or a related fields.
- Bilingual - Advanced level of Dutch & English (spoken and written).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of regional sales, business development, or commercial management experience in the food ingredients, specialty chemicals, in the B2B distribution sector.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical Data Sheets, Certificate of Analysis (COA), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), industry-specific regulations, formulations, applications.
- Strong customer orientation and a clear focus on goal achievement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and sales closing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/SAP systems.
- Willingness to travel as required.
