Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Summary: To plan, design and execute water and wastewater infrastructure projects to meet established success criteria.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in pre-tender activities for the award of consultancy, contracts and agreements
- Assist in technical and feasibility studies and site investigations as required.
- Assist in planning construction methods and procedures.
- Support the Programme Manager in Managing and supervising consultants/contractors and advise on engineering issues
- Support the Programme Manager in Managing and supervising work to comply with all regulations, standards and applicable laws.
- Review designs to make sure that design requirements are met.
- Prepare budgets and other project resources.
- Prepare progress reports produced by consultant/ contractors and make recommendations for corrective action where necessary.
- Produce monthly progress reports on each project assigned.
- Support the Programme Manager in Certifying completion of works/services.
- Assist in reviewing requests for payments for each project.
- Participate in Stakeholder Engagement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Regulations for projects such as Town and Country, EMA, CEC, EIA etc.
- Together with such other tasks as required by the Departmental Manager and which are appropriate up to the grading level of the post.

Job Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum experience: Four years (4) years of experience in the field of engineering, construction or project management.
- Preferred additional requirements
- Geotechnical Experience
- Familiarity with the use of all FIDIC Standard Form Contracts
- Experience in supervision of Design Consultants and Works Contractors
- Experience in preparing Tender Documents with related specification.
- Experience in supporting the management of complex projects.

Short-term contract - 1 Year, in the first instance, under the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) execution arrangement.
