1. Assist in the safe navigation and operations of vessels on and off-island as per the schedule. Experience in operating docking, captaining and etc. vessels ranging in size 30ft to 60ft.
2. Ability to plan routes, pre-departure checks and ensure safety of all passengers and crew.
3. Ability and knowledge of reading and being up-to-date with weather forecasts.
4. Maintain accurate log of vessel operations. Plan servicing, and etc. of engines in a co-ordinated strategy to support overall, uninterrupted vessel operations.
5. Participate/conduct regular vessel maintenance and safety drills for compliance and readiness.
6. Communicate effectively and politely with team-members, Manager and guests.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Valid maritime credentials (for e.g. Boat Master 1, 2 or 3) or as per National Regulations. Must be licensed for off island navigation.
2. Knowledge of navigation, safety protocols and vessel operations.
3. STCW 95 (or equivalent)
4. Experience or Certification with troubleshooting engines and rebuilding where necessary.
**This position is based in Dominica. Reallocation, travel and accommodation allowances will be provided.
