Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
LOCATION

HOURS OF WORK
40 hours per week, 5 days a week.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
To work with other team members towards having all Manufacturing and Support equipment maintained in a manner that guarantees successful production while maintaining safety and efficiency.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Participates in the Planning and implementation of the companies Electro-Mechanical Maintenance requirements, based on sound engineering standards and principles.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including programmable controllers, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
- Appraises themselves of the manufacturer’s specifications for each piece of equipment and ensures that it is maintained and operated accordingly using engineering drawings, blueprints and equipment manuals.
- Knows how to use hand, power and diagnostic tools, is proficient in reading Gages, displays and meters used in industry.
- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, calibrates and makes adjustments based on the diagnosis, using repair parts, by correcting existing parts or by innovation to select substitute parts.
- Advises operators and line mechanics of the appropriate operating procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Make recommendations for the improvement of process in the company that will lead to cost savings, efficiency, safer and better working conditions.
- Maintains records and other forms of documentation that allows the maintenance process to be held accountable.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications/Education:
- Post secondary qualifications from a recognized institution in Electrical, Electronic or Electromechanical principles/Industrial Electrical Maintenance
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
- Familiarity with local electrical codes, and the principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in the field of troubleshooting and repairs to electrical, electronics, mechanical in an industrial environment.
- At least 1 years’ experience in PLC/Micro-processors Diagnostics, using external and internal diagnostic tools.
- Having a wide range of knowledge and competences in engineering disciplines will be an asset
- Knowledge of Hydraulic, pneumatic, motor controls, gearboxes, conveyor systems, internal combustions engines etc. are an asset
