
Position Title: Staff Accountant / General Accountant

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant / General Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a commitment to professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
- Support tax filings and statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA Level 3 or equivalent professional accounting qualification is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in general accounting or a similar role.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is an asset.
- Familiarity with IFRS or local accounting standards.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
