An established manaufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Production supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervison of our production activities. You will be required to work on a shift basis to include weekends and public holidays.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all critical control points are compliant and monitored in accordance with the Food Safety/HACCP Plan as well as quality plan
- Assist with driving compliance with good manufacturing practices, HACCP and all other applicable regulations, policies and procedures
- Efficient use of time and ensure adequate staff compliment for production
- Implement and monitor processes aimed at minimizing damages
- Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure excellent quality products are produced.
- Maintain product quality audits.
- Ensure the meeting of quality expectations by maintaining and managing controls and continual personal inspection of production and process;
- Supervise and motivate a team of workers. Seek ways to improve the process and quality while reducing costs;
- Complete weekly production reports for Management meetings;
- Manage the Production and Packaging processes through personal interaction and communicate clear expectations to all subordinates;
- Monitor and take corrective measures to improve staff attendance and productivity
- Assist with the execution of the safety programme

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary Education in Operations Management or its equivalent;
- Strong background in the Production Area of a Manufacturing Organization;
- Successful track record in food operations;
- Proven experience as Baker, Pastry Chef and/or relevant role is an asset;
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles and baking techniques and nutrition;
- IT literate - fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications: WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
