Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician at our Beverage Manufacturing Plant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems within the facility to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering at the technician level, along with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Job Functions:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on production equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with machinery, including motors, conveyors, packaging equipment, and other production-related systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and identify areas for improvement to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment reliability.
Collaborate with production personnel to prioritize and address maintenance needs in accordance with production schedules.
Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to assist in troubleshooting and repair activities.
Safely perform maintenance tasks following established procedures and safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any relevant observations or recommendations for future improvements.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as needed.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks beyond the scope of in-house capabilities.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including maintenance workshops and storage areas for spare parts and tools.

Qualifications and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented with a Technician Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology (M.E.E.E.T.).
Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in electrical systems troubleshooting, including PLCs, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electrical wiring.
Experience with maintenance tools and equipment, such as wrenches, multimeters, power tools, and precision instruments.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and emergency maintenance requirements.
