Role Overview: The Technical Lead is responsible for guiding and supporting technical teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. This role involves overseeing team performance, supporting training and recruitment efforts, setting clear technical goals, and maintaining a high standard of client satisfaction throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on project needs and individual strengths.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Analyze user requirements and identify suitable technical solutions.
- Define team objectives and establish clear technical goals.
- Ensure software, systems, and applications are properly maintained and up to date.
- Oversee system updates, enhancements, and modifications.
- Conduct regular security audits and recommend improvements.
- Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to team members during challenges.
- Determine project scope and requirements, and create effective team work schedules.
- Monitor task completion and drive progress toward daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams, leadership, and clients to align expectations and ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Identify potential project risks early and develop contingency plans.
- Evaluate current operations and coordinate training sessions or team meetings to support continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance team capabilities.
- Adjust project plans and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment that encourages questions, feedback, and collaboration.
- Promote transparency by openly sharing challenges, setbacks, and achievements.
- Prepare progress reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders and leadership as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or financial technology certifications are highly desirable.
- At least 5 years in a technical role within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated industry, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience managing technical teams and delivering projects compliant with regulatory and security standards.
- Hands-on experience with core banking systems, financial software, or secure IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, SOX), and security audits.
- Experience working with project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall in regulated environments.
