As an intermediate accountant, you will analyze complex financial records and reports. You will regulate and authenticate financial transactions. You maintain a ledger for clients to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting data. It is your job to balance accounts and confirm and verify bank statements on behalf of the clients. You will need experience using electronic ledger systems.
You should have sound analytical skills and advanced skills using Microsoft Excel. Additionally, you will need a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports and financial forecasts. Ultimately, you should be able to handle bookkeeping projects and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Maintains financial records for clients by analyzing source documents and general ledger accounts.
- Reconciles bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Provides financial status information by preparing special reports, completing special projects.
- Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
- Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers;
- Maintains fixed asset schedule.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups, keeping information confidential.
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with local financial legal requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Assist with tax compliance filings.
- Guide junior staff.
- Develop SOPs to ensure client satisfaction.
Skills & Qualification
Qualifications
- Degree in accounting with 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping/management accounting; OR
- High School diploma (with accounting) and at least 5years experience in bookkeeping/management accounting.
- Familiarity with current technologies, like desktop sharing and cloud services.
- Experience with accounting software (such as quickbooks, Xero)
