The Driver - Merchandiser has responsibility to deliver, collect, pick- up, stock refrigerators and stands and rotate pre-ordered products to Route Customers. The incumbent is further required to ensure that the Wisynco Look of Success is achieved and maintained in all accounts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check equipment for roadworthiness and efficiency and report any faults identified
- Load truck according to load sheets and proactively resolve any discrepancies
- Deliver pre-ordered products to customer's place of business
- Collect or pick up old, rejected or defective stock
- Maintain proper product handling standards while making deliveries
- Prepare customer invoices to match order and match goods to invoice
- Work closely with the Sales Associate to ensure that the most appropriate product mix is available in the account
- Restock shelves and display units to meet company standards
- Observe inventory levels and prompts customer to reorder when levels are low
- Escalate requests for returns and credit notes for rejected stock
- Keep display equipment clean and tidy and arranges optimum display of products
- Exhibit a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with customers
- Complete assigned delivery schedule(s) timely and thoroughly
- Responsible for safe handling and security of cash when collecting, transporting and depositing
- Settle all accounts daily, completing any necessary paperwork timely, thoroughly and legibly
- Listen to and make best efforts to resolve service complaints or escalate issues to the appropriate company personnel
- Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the Company vehicle
- Facilitate routine maintenance of the delivery truck
- Responsible for securing the vehicle at all times
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures when operating the Company vehicle

- Any other duty that may be assigned within the scope of the job
Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- School Leaving Certificate with at least three years’ experience driving large truck
- Possession of a valid open General Driver’s License
- Licensed to drive motor truck in excess of 7000kg and over
- Sound knowledge of sales techniques with prior experience in sales
- Resourceful, flexible, adaptable with excellent customer service skills
- In depth understanding of warehouse operations and procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance laws, regulatory and safety requirements
- Ability to multitask with strong numeric proficiency
- People oriented and results driven with great interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills
- Comfortable and competent in the use of computers/ handheld devices
- Proven ability to exercise discretion, professional judgement and maturity
- Excellent driving record
