to fill the position of:
CREDIT MANAGER
CORE FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient management and leadership of the Credit Team to ensure the achievement of JPS & Partners Credit Union’s credit portfolio strategic objectives in order that the Mission, Vision and major targets are accomplished.
OTHER MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Contributing to the Credit Union’s Strategic Planning process, paying particular attention to those strategic objectives and initiatives related to the Credit Department.
- Planning, coordinating, controlling and directing the lending operations of the Credit Union to minimize risks in lending and ensuring profitability.
- Facilitating the delivery of quality service to members in keeping with the organization’s five core values.
- Providing timely report to the General Manager, Board of Directors and external organizations on credit administration, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Post Graduate Degree in Management Studies, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Specialized training in Credit Administration or Risk & Compliance.
- Five (5) years’ experience in credit administration at a senior level, preferably in a financial institution, with at least two (2) years’ managerial experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of Credit Unions’ policies, procedures and products.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS 9 especially in Expected Credit Loss analysis
- Knowledge of Acts and Regulations governing the Credit Union (Co-operative and Friendly Societies Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, BOJ Act, etc.).
- Sound knowledge of accounting practices, principles and procedures especially as it relates to the Credit Union environment.
- Excellent personal financial planning and sales skills.
- Ability to pay keen attention to details to ensure that transactions are error-free and trustworthy.
- Good judgement to determine member’s credit worthiness and character.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially advanced excel.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing to maintain strong relationships with members.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, honesty and confidentiality.
