A Kingston-based importer and distributor of food products is seeking a detail-oriented and competent Junior Accountant to join their accounting team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bank reconciliations and tax returns

• Review accounts receivable and accounts payable postings for accuracy

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements

• Ensure timely payment of invoices

• Prepare quarterly budgets

• Correct, process, and reconcile various accounting documents

• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• At least three (3) years of experience in a financial/accounting role

• Competence in accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset

• Ability to understand and apply accounting guidelines, system updates, and policy changes

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong critical thinking abilities

• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: JMD $1.5 million per annum
