 Core Functions

Team Leadership

• Manage and supervise a team of merchandisers, assigning tasks providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal merchandising standards are met. 

Merchandising & Visual Presentation

• Develop and execute merchandising plans/strategies aligned with Company goals to enhance the customer experience.
• Analyze sales data to identify trends and optimize product assortment, including pricing and promotions.
• Ensure visually appealing product displays across all retail locations, adhering to brand guidelines and utilizing creative merchandising techniques to attract customers. 

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotations and identify potential stock issues to maintain optimal product availability across all retail locations.  Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely product deliveries and manage product quality.
• Implement loss prevention strategies to reduce shrinkage and damage.

Sales Performance & Data Analysis

• Track sales performance, analyze sales data, and identify areas for improvement to optimize merchandising strategies. 
• Analyze sales trends and customer behavior to make data-driven merchandising decisions.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales volume, inventory turnover, and product performance.
• Adjust merchandising strategies based on performance insights and seasonal trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with store managers, marketing teams and retailers to align merchandising efforts with business goals.
• Coordinate promotional activities and seasonal campaigns for maximum impact.
• Ensure proper signage and pricing accuracy across all store sections.

Customer Engagement & Brand Representation

• Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with customer expectations and brand identity.
• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide insights to improve their shopping experience.
• Collect customer insights to enhance merchandising strategies.

Minimum Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline.
• Proven experience of minimum three (3) years in retail merchandising, preferably in the FMCG market, including knowledge of product placement, visual merchandising techniques, and sales trends. 
• Sound understanding of visual merchandising principles to create eye-catching displays that enhance customer experience.
• Strong understanding of current brand management trends, concepts, strategies and best practices.
• Excellent human relations, communication, supervisory, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret sales data and identify trends, to make data - driven decisions regarding merchandising strategies.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Valid Food Handlers’ Permit and Driver’s Licence.
• High professional, ethical and of integrity.
• Required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands
