We're Hiring!
1. Coding/Robotics/Programming (New Position)
- Are you passionate about technology and eager to ignite a love for coding and robotics in young minds?
- Do you possess a strong understanding of programming principles and robotics systems?
- You will be teaching students the fundamentals of coding and robotics and fostering their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Responsibilities include: developing and delivering coding and robotics lessons, managing robotics equipment, and participating in robotics competitions.
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of classroom experience in IT, coding, robotics or STEM-related subjects.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Scratch, Python, or HTML/CSS.
- Familiarity with robotics platforms like LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, or Arduino.
- Experience using project-based learning and integrating technology into core subjects.
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills.
2. Sports Science and Phys Ed. (New Position)
- Are you passionate about promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles?
- Do you have a strong background in sports science and physical education?
- Design and implement engaging PE curriculum that meets MOEYI standards and promotes physical literacy, fitness, and teamwork.
- Deliver the Physical Education and Sport Curriculum up to the CAPE level.
- Lead the development of Christel House Jamaica’s athletics program, including training schedules, coaching student teams (track & field, football, netball, etc.), and fostering sportsmanship.
- Identify and nurture athletic talent while maintaining a balance between competition and academics.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, fitness clubs, and house competitions.
- Liaise with the Principal and leadership team to create long-term goals for school athletic excellence.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment during all physical activity sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field.
- First Aid/CPR certification (required or willingness to acquire upon hiring).
- Additional coaching certifications from recognized sports bodies (e.g., JAAA, JFF, ISSA) considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching PE and/or coaching student-athletes at the high school level.
- Proven success in developing and managing school-based athletics programs, including training plans, team selection, and inter-school competitions.
3. Resource and Technology (New Position)
- Are you tech-savvy and passionate about integrating technology into the learning environment?
- Do you have experience providing progression to the upper secondary level?
Job Function
- Deliver modules in the areas of: Agriculture and the Environment, Business Basics, Family and Consumer Management and Industrial Techniques.
- Apply 21st Century skills in the classroom through the fostering of problem solving, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity
