PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
• Coordinating with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement/delivery of shipments locally and
internationally
• Responding to customer inquiries and providing status updates and or referring clients to the proper channels
• Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy prior to handing over to the Customs Brokerage
Division
• Making special shipping arrangements as necessary
• Tracking all documents to ensure all shipping documents are accurate and on time to prevent delays, rent, demurrage
and stock outs
• Ensuring each shipment is accompanied with the documents required to customs clear to prevent delays, rent,
demurrage and stock outs
• Preparing vouchers for accounts payable
• Reconciling all out standings and credit accounts in a timely manner to prevent holds
• Sourcing, recommending and selecting the best mode of transport for ABIL import/export of goods in the supply chain
to reduce operating costs and attain savings thus creating efficiency
• Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards
• Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
• Negotiating rates, contracts, rent free, demurrage free days and credit facilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
• Degree in Business Administration or associated field
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years’ experience in local and export trade/marketing/distribution, preferably in FMCG (fast moving consumer
goods)
• Personality/temperament – energetic, competitive, honest, willing
