Objective:
Coordinate the planning and optimization of mining operations of the company, with the purpose of assuring maintenance and mining projects’ route sheets execution, following up to each defined action, and to the obligations of the mining and legal area, as well as the technical development of the diverse mining projects to guarantee the assurance of raw materials that company’s plants and clients require.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Execute the activities associated with the position according to policies and procedures of security and Health and Safety established by the company, to guarantee one’s integrity and for stakeholders within the process.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are within vice-presidency’s management system and Standard Work (SW) associated with the role.
- Know and achieve all levels of authority, responsibility and accountability of the similar exposition groups (GES) associated with the role.
- Know and achieve all policies and procedures of Supplies, Ethics, Human Resources, Legal, Information Security, Sustainability and others associated with the role.
- Know and accomplish current legislation associated with the role.
- Coordinate and manage open-pit mining activities that include mechanical and through mionig explosives, accomplishing the requirements of volume and quality established by the client (cement plant).
- Perform the mining design, planning and optimization, according to the results of exploration activities executed by the raw materials department (lime, minerals, clays) and aggregates, complying with quality, volume, safety, sustainability, community, and legal requirements.
- Verify the quality and compliance of the information generated by external companies that perform geological exploration, mining planning and quality control in each of the projects of raw materials and aggregates.
- Take care and respond to technical-legal requirements done by authorities, to guarantee the accomplishment of the different mining and legal type obligations.
- Coordinate the management and accomplishment of environmental-mining obligations that the company has as a beneficiary of mining rights, achieving the current policies, assuring the supply of raw materials to the company’s plants and clients.
- Supervise and manage inversion projects, associated to prospection, exploration and production of mining information to present reports to environmental-mining authorities according to current legislation, with the objective of optimizing resources and generate value.
- Communication and relationship with internal clients, with the objective of optimizing company’s flow.
- Guarantee the development of a continuous improvement culture, reliability in the operations and accomplishment of the established budgets.
- Contribute to the structuring of mining projects relying on project management tools, accomplishing what is established in the CRIRSCO standards as a route sheet to impulse company’s strategies, assuring the supply of the necessary raw materials within the strategic pillars of the company.
- Evaluate inversion projects, starting from the integral evaluation of each one of the different factors to be analysed, involving and coordinating worktables with each area of support.
- Support and manage with internal requirements, such as: evaluation of new areas, potential of new projects, inversion opportunities.
- Use personal protection elements and accomplish procedures of industrial security.
Required Education / Expertise / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Mining Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Surpac / Datamine / Vulcan / Minex / Minetech
- Good knowledge and understanding of Sustainability standards and audits
- Great leadership and negotiation skills
- Experience in Project Management
- Time management and planning skills
- Basic - Intermediate Spanish level
- Availability to travel
Required Experience:
Minimum experience of 5 years in open-pit mining operations (including drilling and blasting) and geological modeling, mining planning and optimization of open-pit mines.
