Job Context:
The Procurement Officer will be a key player in enhancing the organization's supply chain management and procurement processes.This role is pivotal in driving consistency in order fulfilment, maintaining high standards of supplier quality, and fostering strong supplier relationships. The Procurement Officer’s contributions will be essential for building a resilient and sustainable supply chain that aligns with our overall business goals.
Job Purpose:
The Procurement Officer will work closely with the Procurement Manager to implement effective supply chain procurement strategies that drive sourcing, procurement, vendor and stakeholder relationship management, cost control, and quality management. This role is integral to aligning key procurement outcomes with the company’s strategic objectives, contributing to business growth, cost reduction, and improved profitability.
Responsibilities :
- Supports the implementation of cost-effective sourcing and procurement strategies that minimize supply chain risk
- Assists with the tracking and evaluation of supplier performance
- Assists with establishing and enforcing quality standards for purchased goods to ensure they meet the company’s quality and performance requirements.
- Supports revenue generation by collaborating with the sales and supply chain teams to support initiatives that drive revenue growth.
- Continuously monitor and improve procurement processes to reduce order processing cycle times, improve turnover and enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor and improve key procurement metrics and indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of our operations.
- Use integrated metrics to drive performance improvements and reduce supply chain costs.
- Communicate procurement needs clearly and concisely, ensuring that vendors understand requirements, timelines, and expectations.
- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and requests for information, ensuring a turnaround time that meets LIG standards.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the Industrial, Commercial, Heavy-Duty, Automotive or FMCG industries
- Strong Analytical, Synthesis & Communication Skills
- Strong experience in managing supplier relationships
- Tech Proficiency: Experience with tools like Microsoft Suite, MS Dynamics, SAGE, Netstock, WMS, Analytics Tools and Forecasting Engines.
Working Conditions:
- 40-hour work week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- May be required to work extended hours to complete projects.
- Expected to operate within an “open” concept office environment
- Frequent to moderate walking short/ long distances
- Sit, stand and/or bend for long hours
