The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing a team, optimizing workflows, taking the lead on complex repairs by providing technical expertise and training, coordinating the work of workshop staff and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

The Workshop Manager will be an integral part of the company's operational success, overseeing the daily activities of the workshop to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality output. The manager's role is critical in maintaining a well-organized and smoothly functioning workshop environment.

The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing a team, optimizing workflows, taking the lead on complex repairs by providing technical expertise and training, coordinating the work of workshop staff and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

 

Core Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Lead and motivate a team of technicians and support staff.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Plan, schedule, distribute, and assign work to technicians.

  • Provide training and mentoring in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Assist, guide, and instruct technicians in the performance of their duties.

  • Provide technical direction and problem-solving in response to staff work questions and problems.

  • Respond to and coordinate with the management team to resolve routine customer inquiries and complaints.

  • Determine service and repair work to be done according to automotive or equipment conditions, maintenance records, and driver complaints.

  • Develop and implement efficient workflow processes.

  • Ensure timely completion of projects and assignments.

  • Monitor and optimize resource allocation.

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets the highest standards.

  • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

  • At least 3+ years of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field, or past experience as a Diagnostic Technician.

  • Serve as a point of contact regarding technical updates and specifications.

  • Manage client expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee workshop inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Work closely with the finance department to manage the workshop budget.

  • Identify cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

  • Enforce safety protocols and standards within the workshop.

  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for workshop staff.

  • Address and resolve any operational or personnel issues.

  • Implement preventive measures to avoid recurring problems.
