We are seeking a hands-on Workshop & Fleet Maintenance Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our workshop and fleet maintenance function.

The Role

This role exists to remove operational friction – ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained, repaired, and ready for service. You will manage parts sourcing, maintenance scheduling, workshop workflow, and standards – not just fix things when they break.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Full responsibility for workshop operations and daily workflow

• Plan and execute preventative maintenance for equipment

• Source parts, consumables, and services efficiently (local and overseas where required)

• Maintain inventory control for parts and tools

• Supervise workshop staff

• Diagnose faults and coordinate repairs (in-house or outsourced)

• Ensure vehicle uptime, safety, and compliance

• Maintain maintenance records and cost tracking

• Work closely with operations to prioritize fleet availability

What we are looking for

• Strong mechanical and practical problem-solving ability

• Experience managing a workshop or fleet maintenance operation

• Comfortable sourcing parts and dealing with suppliers

• Organised, disciplined, and reliable

• Able to work independently and take ownership

• Leadership experience with tradespeople is a plus

Formal qualifications are helpful but not essential – experience, judgement, and reliability matter more.

What this is not

• This is not a purely administrative role

• This is not a passive supervisory position

• This is a working manager role with real responsibility and authority

Why this role matters

• You will be central to the reliability and efficiency of the business

• Your work directly reduces downtime, costs, and operational stress

• You will have autonomy, trust, and clear expectations

Compensation

• Competitive salary based on experience

• Long-term role in a stable, growing business
