Hydraulic Workover Unit (HWO) Offshore Trinidad & Tobago | 28 x 28 Rotation | 12-Month Contract


Scope Overview

We are looking for experienced offshore Welders to support the 24/7 operation and maintenance of Company-owned Hydraulic Workover Units (HWO units) across all of our client’s offshore assets in Trinidad and Tobago. Operations are continuous 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with no shutdowns for holidays unless instructed by the Company. The Welder forms part of Scope B: Unit Crew and supports well intervention, workover, and equipment integrity activities in compliance with Company procedures and recognised industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Welder is responsible for performing structural, pressure-related, and equipment welding activities in support of hydraulic workover and well intervention operations under Company supervision.

 

Core responsibilities include:

HWO Operations Support

 Support loading, mobilisation, rig-up, rig-down and demobilisation of Hydraulic

 

Workover Units and associated equipment

Perform welding and cutting activities required during HWO operations, including repair and modification works

Support milling, drilling, section enlargement, and casing operations where welding support is required

 

Welding & Fabrication Duties

Carry out onshore and offshore welding, cutting, and fabrication activities on:

o Workover equipment

o Structural supports

o Pipework, flanges, brackets, and skids

Perform hot work tasks in accordance with approved permits and Company procedures

Ensure welds meet required quality, strength, and safety standards

Assist with fit-up, alignment, and preparation of materials prior to welding

 

Well Intervention & Equipment Integrity

Support well intervention and heavy workover activities, including GP and ESP scopes, through welding and repair of associated equipment

Assist with maintenance and repair of pressure control equipment, workover tooling, and surface facilities

Support plug and abandon operations through cutting, welding, and structural modifications as required

 

Equipment & Testing Support

Assist with preparation and repair of equipment during pressure testing of BOPs, casing, and wellheads

Support routine inspection and maintenance of HWO equipment and structures

Ensure all welding activities are conducted in line with approved procedures and inspection requirements

 

Materials, Housekeeping & Safety

Assist with handling and storage of materials for the Company and service providers

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, equipment care, and worksite cleanliness

Strict adherence to HSE requirements, PTW systems, hot work controls, and offshore safety standards

 

Mandatory Experience & Requirements

Minimum 3 years oilfield experience

Proven offshore experience as a Welder, preferably supporting workover or intervention operations

Experience working on or around Hydraulic Workover Units (HWU)

Experience supporting well intervention, GP, ESP, and heavy workover activities

Valid welding qualifications or coding relevant to offshore oil and gas work (e.g. structural, pipe, pressure welding)

Valid OPITO T-BOSIET (or equivalent)

Valid offshore medical certificate

Ability to work offshore on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotation
