Water Truck Driver

Water Truck Drivers Required We are seeking experienced water truck drivers to operate in St. James, Trelawny, Hanover, and St. Elizabeth. Applicants must be reliable, safety-focused, and familiar with local routes.

JOB OPPORTUNITY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of WATER TRUCK DRIVER based in St. James, Trelawny, Hanover, and St. Elizabeth.

Reporting to the Water Production Engineer, the position is responsible for transporting and distributing potable water to consumers as directed.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Performing routine checks at the start of the workday to ensure that:

-          the water level in the radiator is adequate.

-          there is adequate engine and transmission oil.

-          the water hoses are in good condition.

• Inspecting lugs, bolts, and nuts, and changing tyres as needed.
• Loading and distributing water by:

-          connecting hoses to the truck valve and loading bay valve.

-          opening the loading bay valve to fill trucks.

-          closing the valves after the truck has been filled; disconnecting hoses and replacing them in the tool section of the truck.

-          unloading water to tanks or individual drums.

• Delivering chlorine, alum, gas oil, pipes, or other supplies to the pumping stations.
• Assisting in the sterilization of pipelines and wells by consulting the Water Quality Coordinator to finalize arrangements for the sterilization exercise.
• Assisting with the transportation of plumbers, mechanics, and other field staff to worksites.
• Performing courier services for the parish office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• • Completion of secondary level education.
  • Possession of a valid Open General Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Possession a valid Ministry of Health Food Handler’s Permit.
  • Previous experience as a driver of heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a water truck.
  • Knowledge of how to operate and drive a heavy-duty unit.
  • Knowledge of the geography of assigned areas.
