Warehouse Team Lead

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for organizing, and participating in the operations and activities of
the warehouse while supervising team members.
Responsibilities MUST be executed guided by the policies and procedures as outlined by the company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate team members and implement procedures/systems to ensure the accurate picking of
  • products on invoice.
  • items picked by team members to ensure accuracy of items being dispatched to customers.
  • Coordinate and participate in stock counts and warehouse sanitizing as required.
  • Investigate, resolve, and provide explanations for stock variances.
  • Coordinate the receiving, securing, and storage of products to prevent damages.
  • Take ownership for warehouse related issues that arise and take any follow up actions required. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and facilitate reliable and on-time delivery of products.
  • Take the lead on internal relationships to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communication
  • regarding the assigned processes.
  • Ensure that the warehouse operates in accordance with all health, safety and environmental policies
  • and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
  • Assist in the execution of strategic plans for the department.
  • Provide a motivating work environment to support the team and other departments where necessary.
  • Ensure direct reports are knowledgeable of his/her JD and KPI.
  • Ensure all relevant training is carried out in a timely manner and recorded by employee
  • acknowledgements.
  • Manage and direct team through sound personnel practices such as:
    • Relevant and effective inductions
    • Identifying and recommend training needs; assist in the training and development of staff
    • by recommending training courses and establishing training schedules with the HR team.
    • Lead teams including but not limited to training, coaching, planning, evaluating,
    • rewarding, disciplining and overseeing employee relations for the Department.
    • Coaching; foster a customer-centric work environment by developing and implementing
    • performance standards to enhance productivity for each employee.
    • Issuing and administering continuous training on Department SOPs
  • Adhere to safety systems, policies, plans, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Report workplace hazards to responsible personnel
  • Collaborate with responsible personnel to ensure your safety hazards that have been reported are
  • resolved swiftly eliminate threats to mitigate against unsafe working conditions for you and team
  • members.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) or more years’ related experience
  • Knowledge of warehousing and stock control methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, equipment and terminology
  • Space utilization and inventory techniques
  • Valid certificate in operating forklifts would be an asset
  • Proven people management abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems, standards and process improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
  • Strong IT systems knowledge
  • Experience in delivering results in a team environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques will be an asset
