General Description |

Responsible for directing the receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. Ensures that productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.
Also oversees the secure storage of the company’s stock and ensures that all health and safety standards are maintained.

Specific Responsibilities |
|
- Supervises the daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping and receiving, returns and transfers - Strategically manages the warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision - Ensures efficient space utilization and layout - Initiates, coordinates and enforces optimal operational policies and procedures - Adheres to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements - Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene and security - Assists with managing inventory control and reconciles with data storage system - Liaises with clients, suppliers and transport companies, as needed - Manages team by assigning tasks appropriately and appraising results; sets KPIs; coaches and motivates employees; - Ensures that machinery used in warehouse is regularly inspected and maintained - Produces monthly reports and statistics (In/Out status report, dead stock report etc.) - Receives feedback and monitors the quality of services provided - Manages customer service requests promptly and resolves issues quickly - Keeps up-to-date with warehouse management procedures and best practices; obtains knowledge of ISO procedures and processing mapping - Any other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience Required | |
- Bachelors or Diploma in Warehousing/Inventory Management and/or Logistics and Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience - Internet skills including use of e-mails and data collection - Familiarity with computer software, word processing and database and spreadsheet programs - Numeracy and literacy skills - Ability to prioritize duties as assigned and have a strong sense of urgency during tight deadlines - Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities - Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally - Excellent coordination, organization and scheduling skills - Attention to detail and the highest standards for accuracy and precision - Must possess leadership skills and ability to manage staff - An ability to work independently and as a team - Ability to maintain records - Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify employee/customer needs and concerns and resolve them in a timely manner - Must possess strong interpersonal skills - Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback - Willingness to pursue ongoing education and training - Excellent customer care skills - Must have the ability to be cheerful or positive when dealing with disgruntled customers and be able to calm them down.
