The Warehouse Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations within a food manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the successful candidate to balance strategic planning, documentation, and compliance responsibilities with active participation on the warehouse floor.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
• Actively work alongside your direct report to prioritize and complete daily tasks including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and loading
• Delegate work effectively to meet deadlines, stepping in to assist with physical tasks during peak periods or staff absences
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization and workflow efficiency
• Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to your direct report
• Assist in documenting staff development and cross-training plans
• Foster a positive, accountable, and productive team culture
• Conduct daily walk-through inspections of lighting, flooring, racking integrity, and equipment functionality
• Monitor and record environmental parameters to ensure goods are stored in appropriate conditions
• Enforce all health and safety standards, ensure PPE compliance, and immediately address hazards
• Ensure all inbound and outbound goods meet required quality standards
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining an organized and compliant warehouse
• Oversee sanitation and housekeeping standards in accordance with food safety requirements
• Write, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key warehouse processes
• Maintain accurate operational and inventory records
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation initiatives
• Plan daily and weekly workloads based on inbound deliveries and outbound order volumes
• Oversee and/or assist with stock counts; investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Ensure accuracy in receiving (quantity and condition checks) and dispatch processes
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory control
• Knowledge of FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory management principles
• Experience with food traceability systems in a warehouse environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and leadership abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant warehouse management software
