Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day warehouse and delivery operations for Dwellings Barbados, ensuring the accurate receipt, staging, picking, and dispatch of goods for customer deliveries, store replenishment, and internal transfers. This hands-on leadership role manages a team of warehouse staff and drivers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and strict adherence to operational procedures. The role also oversees vehicle management, route planning, and on-time delivery execution, and works closely with the Operations Manager and Inventory Controller to ensure accurate fulfillment and smooth warehouse performance.

Key Responsibilities
          Warehouse Execution & Fulfillment

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including container offloading, live receiving, staging, picking, and truck loading.
  • Enforce bin management and put-away protocols to ensure proper stock placement and layout efficiency.
  • Monitor warehouse workflows to meet daily delivery and replenishment schedules.
  • Ensure warehouse standards of cleanliness, visual order, safety, and security are consistently upheld.
  • Manage and support warehouse staff, including receivers, loaders, and pickers, ensuring optimal productivity.

        Delivery & Routing Management

  • Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules and truck routing based on volume, geography, and efficiency.
  • Supervise drivers and assistants, ensuring all orders are correctly loaded, scanned, and signed off.
  • Monitor truck loading sequence, delivery manifests, and Proof of Delivery (POD) compliance.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections, report and track maintenance issues, and ensure adherence to the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Investigate and report any delivery failures, damages, or exceptions, and support resolution where necessary.

         Inventory Coordination

  • Conduct and sign off on all inbound receiving processes, verifying quantities against packing lists and internal transfer documentation.
  • Ensure damaged or questionable goods are immediately quarantined and documented.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Controller to support cycle counts and blind counts as scheduled.
  • Report any receiving or transfer discrepancies within required timelines.
  • Maintain strong documentation and scanning discipline at all warehouse checkpoints.

       Staff Supervision & Safety

  • Supervise all warehouse shift staff and provide hands-on direction during peak periods.
  • Prepare daily task assignments and ensure proper shift coverage, including weekend and holiday operations.
  • Enforce safety protocols related to lifting, forklift operation, PPE use, and equipment handling.
  • Support onboarding, on-the-job training, and coaching of warehouse and driver team members.
  • Escalate HR or disciplinary matters to the Operations Manager as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a retail or logistics setting.
  • Experience managing delivery routing, vehicle fleets, and warehouse personnel.
  • Proficiency with inventory handling procedures, barcode scanning, and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and team supervision skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) is a strong asset.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving large items and being mobile across the warehouse.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
