Efficiently manage and maintain inventory data within SAP Business 1, ensuring accurate recording of daily inventory transactions and receipts of incoming goods and oversee warehouse operations

Essential Job Responsibilities

Handling

Ensuring Incoming stock is unloaded and stored correctly and safely in the warehouse.

For incoming PO’s, he/she locates the items needed and prepares them for loading.

Ensures that requisitions for stock are picked and assembled for delivery to the factory floor.

Ensure heavy goods and goods on pallets are moved and stored away using a Forklift, walkie stacker and/or a hand truck.

  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Monitoring

  • Daily monitoring of incoming and outgoing stock for obvious faults or defects and report these to the warehousing manager.
  • Monitoring of inventory quantities and advising purchaser with regards to reordering.
  • Regularly monitoring inventory to ensure availability.
  • Monitoring and advising on obsolete stock.
  • Monitoring and advising on food safety breaches in the warehouse.
  • Advise the warehousing manager of finished goods stock levels for outbound orders.

Recording

  • Maintain a physical perpetual inventory control system which is to be updated with the inventory levels at all times.
  • Maintain daily incoming inspection log sheet for all raw and packaging materials.
  • Verification of orders against original purchase documents and ensure that shipment contents are double-checked for accuracy.
  • Conduct cycle count audits of warehouse stock weekly and provide information for re-stock of key items in real time to the warehousing manager.
  • Liaise with purchasing on the timeliness of orders.
  • Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports. 

Logistics

  • Liaise with Production on the timeliness of orders for dispatch for the local market.
  • As a key part of the supply chain, the warehouse clerk typically works with drivers and other transport workers to ensure that orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • The warehouse clerk will liaise the purchaser, often to give feedback details on shipping times and delivery issues.
  • Accomplish the goals of the Authorized Economic Exporter programme in accordance with the requirements of the JCA AEO programme and the World Customs Organisation’s AEO guidelines.
  • Ensure 7 Point Inspection Sheet is completed for ALL Imported Containers accurately and in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/ Associate Degree/ Diploma in Warehousing & Inventory Control
  • 5+ years of clerical experience specifically in the areas of warehousing, inventory, and shipping – ideally in a food manufacturing setting
  • Awareness of food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • PC proficiency with a thorough knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven record of effectively undertaking multiple tasks at one time
  • Sound working knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Awareness of food safety, quality and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Working knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.

  • Mathematical reasoning and aptitude

  • Ability to be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift handler’s certificate – a plus.
  • Knowledge of Authorized Economic Operations (AEO) policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/SAP Business 1
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Good technical learning ability
  • Ability to manage through systems.
