The warehouse coordinator is the person who is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily, overall operations within the warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Primary Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

 

  1.  Ensuring employee safety.
  2. Customer Service (Both internal and external).
  3. Goods receiving / Goods dispatch.
  4. Non-inventory maintenance.
  5. Item Assembly.
  6. Proper storage of inventory items.
  7. Stock rotation.
  8. People management (task assignments, evaluations, performance issues, problem solving, work hours scheduling and reporting)
  9. Administrative duties (document maintenance, filing, reporting in various formats, etc.)
  10. Verification of all duties or tasks done by junior staff.

 

Essential duties include the following but not limited to:

 

  1. Supervising daily warehouse activities using junior staff to complete tasks.
  2. Measuring and recording of all departmental activities.
  3. Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  4. Establishing or adjusting work procedure to meet warehouse demand as dictated by work flow.
  5. Interpreting company policy to employees and enforcing safety regulations.
  6. Recommending measures to improve quality of service.
  7. Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate interdepartmental activities.
  8. Warehouse maintenance.
  9. Warehouse tool and equipment maintenance.

 

Warehouse Coordinator Task List:

 

  1. Ensuring employee safety
  2. Arranging product for resale in proper shelving format.
  3. Arranging shelving bins.
  4. Arranging and manage stock rotation process.
  5. Arranging and manage top strap process and maintenance.
  6. Ensuring product packaging is kept clean and undamaged.
  7. Ensuring work areas are clean and tidy.
  8. Ensuring all picking, packing and other slips are attended to on a timely basis.
  9. Ensuring all warehouse documentation is properly recorded.
  10. Ensuring all damages are recorded and reported.
  11. Double checking all orders and instructions for accuracy.
  12. Managing disciplinary matters for or relating to employees.
  13. Providing weekly and monthly reports.
  14. Managing all employee tasks.
  15. Recommending measures to improve warehouse operations.
  16. Managing warehouse equipment i.e. vehicles, forklifts and gas, goods lift, pallet jacks, etc.
  17. Managing warehouse maintenance issues.
  18. Managing and dispatching drivers/loaders.
  19. Ensuring all urgent deliveries are done on time.
  20. Checking all damaged and defective items for repair and resale
  21. Managing customer problems and feedback
  22. Spot checks on trucks dispatched.
  23. Visiting all warehouse departments ensuring that all tasks are completed.
  24. Daily vehicle checklist.
  25. Double checking all stock received and dispatched.
  26. Checking received goods for damages.
  27. Planning space management.
  28. Educating staff on special inventory e.g. hazardous materials (HASMAT)
  29. Managing waste removal from warehouse i.e. hazardous waste.
  30. Double checking / auditing all assignments given to departmental staff.
  31. Administrative duties.
  32. Maintaining logs of personnel, equipment, issues, etc.
  33. Organizing and sorting picking slips.
  34. Managing returned goods to the warehouse.
  35. Ensuring that there is no eating / drinking in the warehouse.
  36. Ensuring that no personal items or clothing is stored in warehouse.
  37. Ensuring that there is no smoking in warehouse.
  38. Arranging weekly meetings and taking meeting minutes.
  39. Any other duties under the portfolio as required.

 

 

Lane assignments:

 

  1. Inspecting warehouse facilities and equipment and recommend changes in allocation of space and packing procedures to supervisor.
  2. Ensuring all lanes are properly manned at all times.
  3. Ensuring all lane assignees perform their duties efficiently and adhere to all rules and procedures.

 

Housekeeping:

 

  1. Ensuring all subordinates keep their warehouse environs clean at all times.
  2. Ensuring the appearance of the physical packing and stocking of all items maintain an acceptable standard (Class items by brand).
  3. Examining items to be moved, to ascertain approximate weight, and type of packing required.

 

Issuing of goods:

 

  1. Planning pickup and delivery schedule for truck drivers.
  2. Ensuring all procedures with respect to the issuing of goods are adhered to at all times.
  3. No goods are to leave the warehouse without the relevant approved documents and signed off by the relevant dispatch checker/s.
  4. Ensuring the correct item/s leave the warehouse in an acceptable condition.
  5. Encouraging and supporting all efforts that promote efficiency and accountability in the issuing of goods.
  6. Investigating customer complaints involving such matters as damaged items and delay in delivery and make necessary adjustments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical product knowledge is required
  • Formal training in Electrical 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a warehousing and/or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
