Warehouse Attendant

Aventa Jamaica is seeking a Warehouse Attendant to support its warehouse and distribution operations.

This role is ideal for a dependable and detail-oriented individual who can operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and inventory control.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for receiving goods, replenishing stock, and processing customer orders. This includes picking, packaging, labelling, verifying, invoicing, preloading orders, and handling returns in an accurate and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving

  • Offload vehicles and containers safely and efficiently

  • Verify goods received against supplier invoices (quantity, quality, lot numbers, expiry dates)

  • Weigh and count inventory to ensure accuracy

  • Identify and report overages, shortages, and damages

  • Label products and store in designated areas in accordance with procedures

  • Handle cold storage items in line with Good Distribution Practices

Picking, Packing & Dispatch

  • Accurately pick items to fulfill customer orders

  • Verify orders and prepare invoices and labels

  • Package and prepare orders for dispatch

  • Preload deliveries in an organized and timely manner

Replenishment

  • Restock inventory to maintain adequate supply in picking locations

  • Ensure proper storage and organization of goods

Returns Processing

  • Process returned goods and documentation accurately and promptly

  • Verify returned items against invoices, including lot numbers and expiry dates

  • Enter data and generate reports related to returned items

  • Handle sensitive items, including controlled products, in accordance with procedures

General Duties

  • Assist with stock counts and inventory management activities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse

  • Report damaged or expired products promptly

  • Support the security and integrity of warehouse goods

  • Adhere to all company policies, health and safety standards, and operating procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational objectives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) CXC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a similar warehouse environment

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer literacy is an asset

  • Good manual dexterity

Working Conditions

  • Full-time role (Monday to Friday)

  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required

  • Warehouse-based role with physically active duties
