Vice Principal, Prep School

Fairfield International Academy in Montego Bay invites applications for the role of Vice Principal for the Prep School. This leadership position plays a critical role in shaping the educational landscape, fostering an environment of academic excellence and innovation. The Vice Principal will oversee the Prep School's daily operations, curriculum development, and staff management, ensuring alignment with our international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor and support Prep School teachers, promoting best teaching practices and overseeing the submission and delivery of unit and lesson plans.
  2. Monitor student achievement and support professional development initiatives to enhance instructional practices.
  3. Guide the development and review of educational data to inform and improve teaching strategies.
  4. Organize in-service training and professional development programs, evaluating their impact on teaching quality.
  5. Collaborate with the Head of School to set goals for staff development and curriculum alignment with accreditation standards.
  6. Observe classroom environments and provide feedback to teachers to ensure effective instructional practices.
  7. Supervise the procurement and management of teaching materials and resources.
  8. Oversee standardized testing and ensure compliance with international and local educational standards.
  9. Lead the development of innovative extracurricular and co-curricular programs.
  10. Enhance the use of technology in learning through collaboration with specialists and integration into lesson plans.
  11. Maintain transparent and effective communication with staff and the parent community.
  12. Manage student discipline and resolve parent and student concerns promptly.
  13. Represent and advocate for the Prep School within and outside the school community.
  14. Ensure the safety, security, and maintenance of school facilities.
  15. Participate in the school’s broader strategic planning and accreditation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, preferably in Educational Administration/Management or Curriculum Development.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a school leadership role, with former experience as a Vice Principal strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in educational settings with a commitment to developing high-quality educational programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
