JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is accountable for the effective management of the people and operations of the brand to achieve market leadership via various platforms with primary focus on e-commerce and digital marketing strategies. He/She plans and guides the digital and operations strategies, inclusive of the overall management of home delivery services and people resources to ensure maximum growth and operational efficiency.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, PHL, and the executive team to develop and implement the Company’s overall business goals, the brand’s business strategy and annual operating plans.
  • Actively participates in the development of marketing and digital strategies in building transactions and sales; ensures the successful implementation and execution of an overall e-commerce platform.
  • Oversees the analysis of all marketing promotions before implementation such as Food and Paper costing, pricing, budgeting, analysis of sales by channel, market research and post-promotional analysis.
  • Manages the annual budget allocated to the brand in an efficient and effective manner, operating within the budgetary guidelines as far as possible. With the assistance of the Chief Financial Controller, develops and monitors restaurant budgets to plan; works together to drive store level margins.
  • Monitors and evaluates the impact of industry, economic and competitor trends on the overall brand performance via research and surveys and acts on results.
  • Assures the establishment of systems and controls necessary to safeguard the physical, financial and human resources of the organization.  Assures operating units have the resources (i.e., staffing, space, supplies and equipment) necessary to perform their duties efficiently and effectively to deliver service excellence to customers within reasonable cost parameters.
  • Consults with V.P. Market Development on new store openings and image enhancements to ensure alignment on targets.
  • Submits individual and team objectives for self and all direct reports to the Vice President Human Resources to ensure adherence to and alignment with performance goals and targets by the end of the first month following the completion of the AOP; holds self, as well as direct reports, accountable for achievement of BSC and other KPIs.
  • Demonstrates high visibility leadership and coaching by ensuring that the Area Managers spend a minimum of 80% of their time in restaurants and ensures that stewardship reviews are conducted with Restaurant Managers.
  • Builds a culture of employee engagement and trust underpinned by the Company’s Leading with Heart programme and drives same deeply with his or her team via role modelling of the desired behaviours.
  • Drives the reward and recognition culture in line with brand needs and the Balanced Score card (BSC) performance targets.
  • Identifies strategies and supports restaurant units through the implementation and execution of the People Plan to attract, train, develop and retain employees to meet required staffing levels.
  • Follows up with the HR Brand Leader and VP HR on the People Agenda and Talent Management to build future Bench.
  • Ensures that the Brand Leader works directly with the IT Department to update the Company’s registers and systems to reflect any changes in promotions and prices and e-commerce strategies
  • Follows up on Restaurant Audit Reports within two (2) days of receipt of same and ensures that all restaurants maintain a minimum of an average rating or above.
  • Oversees systems and processes that assure compliance with all safety and health regulations, franchise standards and the rules of accrediting and licensing bodies; assures the implementation of changes where necessary to meet or exceed these requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and relations with the Board of Directors, investors and other external stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, PHL.

  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience at an executive or senior management level.
  • A proven track record in retail operations in a multinational organization would be an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
