Job Description: Vice President, Investment Banking

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Vice President, Investment Banking to lead sophisticated deal execution, drive elite client relationships, and support strategic growth. This role demands the technical expertise and client focus typical of top global investment banks, and requires an entrepreneurial, execution-focused professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to originate and close high-value transactions, generate fees, and provide thought leadership to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transaction Leadership & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A, capital raising (equity & debt), and restructuring mandates.
- Independently structure and review complex financial models, valuations, and capital structures.
- Oversee due diligence, negotiations, and closings, ensuring seamless transaction execution.
- Develop board-quality pitch materials, investment memorandums, and client deliverables.
2. Client & Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted senior advisor to C-suite executives, institutional investors, and government stakeholders.
- Maintain and expand a proprietary network of client relationships with a focus on origination and repeat business.
- Act as lead banker for key mandates, ensuring strategic advice and flawless client service.
3. Strategic Growth & Market Positioning
- Drive new deal flow through existing relationships and market insights
- Demonstrate a consistent track record of fee generation from previously originated and executed transactions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and pursue opportunities aligned with MIL’s growth strategy.
- Note: Candidates will be expected to discuss previous deal origination and associated fee contribution in detail.
4. Market Positioning & Strategic Leadership
- Provide insights on market dynamics, capital markets activity, and strategic opportunities across sectors and geographies.
- Represent MIL at industry conferences and forums, enhancing the firm’s visibility and thought leadership.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Investment Banking division in line with MIL's regional expansion goals
5. Operational Excellence & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all transactions are executed in compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal controls.
- Deliver reporting on pipeline progress, deal updates, and forecasted revenue to executive management.
- Uphold MIL’s standards for professional integrity, confidentiality, and execution quality
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Investment Banking, with demonstrable transaction leadership.
- Proven ability to originate and execute deals across M&A, equity, and debt capital markets.
- Deep expertise in M&A, capital markets (debt & equity), restructuring, and financial advisory.
- Deep regional market understanding and experience working with Caribbean and international clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA, CFA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience at a top-tier investment bank is a plus
- Must bring or be able to build a credible book of business with named client relationships

Compensation
