The Underwriting Customer Service Rep supports underwriting by evaluating risks and processing data, preparing policies, certificates, and documents, ensuring high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Provides quotations to customers according to underwriting guidelines;
  2. Verifies and accurately enters information on the insurance system ensuring all fields and relevant data is captured.
  3. Produces policy documents, certificates and any other relevant documents;
  4. Responsible for the preparation of files ensuring the accurate and timely filing of records (soft and hard copies);
  5. Maintains all records as required;
  6. Provides administrative support as required;
  7. Conducts timely renewal process to optimize retention ratios;
  8.  Supports the development and maintenance of a team environment by performing other related duties;
  9. Adheres to Anti-Money Laundering and other regulatory requirements

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Minimum of 5 CXC passes including English and Mathematics and 2 ‘A’ levels;
  • Completion of  Insurance courses;
  • Working knowledge of all classes of insurance;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
