We are seeking a motivated Underwriting Assistant to join our General Insurance team and gain hands-on experience in customer service and engagement within a dynamic and evolving business. This role offers direct exposure to the general insurance process supported by experienced professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Underwriting Assistant is required to provide clerical and administrative support to the Department which includes paying close attention to detail, organizational skills, computer literacy and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Operational Support

  • Assist Underwriters in managing and maintaining an existing book of business including client onboarding and endorsements
  • Support policy renewals through ongoing communication with clients and intermediaries
  • Issue insurance policies, certificates, endorsements and related documentation
  • Provide proof of cover for new and existing clients as required
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing within the company’s insurance management system
  • Deliver high levels of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support premium finance documentation and processing, including receipts and contracts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five (5) CSEC passes, including Mathematics and English (Grade I or II)
  • Insurance-related certification or licensing (or willingness to obtain)
