We're hiring a truck Driver

The Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering hardware goods and building materials to customers and suppliers throughout Kingston and surrounding areas. This role involves loading and unloading goods, maintaining the vehicle in good working condition, adhering to delivery schedules, and ensuring customer satisfaction through professional interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate trucks to transport and deliver hardware products to designated locations.

  • Load and unload goods carefully to avoid damages and ensure accurate deliveries.

  • Inspect vehicles daily before operation to ensure roadworthiness, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of goods transported and delivered.

  • Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by management, ensuring timely arrivals.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, suppliers, and customers regarding delivery updates or delays.

  • Ensure compliance with all local traffic regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

  • Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as necessary.

  • Keep the truck clean, organized, and well-maintained.

  • Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Valid Jamaican General driver's license (minimum requirement: Open General license suitable for trucks).

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven driving experience, preferably with experience handling deliveries in a hardware or retail environment.

  • Good knowledge of Kingston roads and surrounding areas.

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading heavy hardware items.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong commitment to safety and defensive driving.

  • Reliability and flexibility, including availability for occasional weekend or after-hours deliveries.
