The Treasury Support Clerk plays a key role in supporting the treasury operations by ensuring the timely and accurate recording of cash movements, assisting with daily reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with financial procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily processing and verification of cash and cheque deposits from various locations.
  • Review deposit slips and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile daily deposits against system records and escalate discrepancies promptly.
  • Support the Commercial and Credit teams by reviewing deposit trends and reporting anomalies or operational deficiencies.
  • Prepare and distribute daily deposit reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with bank representatives to resolve deposit-related issues or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of all treasury transactions in accordance with internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and treasury reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Accountant and other finance team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) CXC/GCE O’Level passes including Mathematics and English.
  • An introductory qualification in Accounting or Finance would be an asset.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a Finance, Accounting, or Treasury-related role. Experience in a retail or shared services environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of cash handling, deposit processes, and bank reconciliation.
  • Awareness of internal controls and financial compliance standards.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in reviewing deposits and financial records.
  • Identifies discrepancies and trends in deposit data and provides insights to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of financial information and adheres to ethical standards.
  • Clearly and effectively communicates findings and issues to relevant stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Works cooperatively with the Finance, Commercial, and Credit teams to ensure smooth treasury operations.
  • Manages multiple tasks efficiently and meets daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactively identifies issues in deposit processes and recommends corrective actions.
  • Responds positively to changes in procedures, systems, or work assignments.
