Overview: Our client is one of the most established financial institutions in Barbados with an excellent track record in providing services to the public and corporate market. Due to growth, they are seeking to add a professional to the team based in Barbados.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Co-ordinate the functioning of the Asset Liability Committee and ensure the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory & market risk capital, liquidity, and FX limits.
  • Establish financial goals and implement strategies to optimize utilization of the Bank’s capital to support expansion of the Bank.
  • Management of correspondent banking relationships as well as liquidity management and will manage the FX position of the Bank to ensure adequate foreign positions are maintained.
  • Responsible for the management of the Bank’s capital and liquidity plans.
  • Coordinate the enterprise-wide stress testing program, prepare the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment process, and develop capital management strategies in normal and stressed scenarios.
  • Management/co-ordination of Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).
  • Ensure that the Bank is compliant with all regulatory & market risk capital adequacy, liquidity, and FX limits.
  • Manage the Bank’s FX position, limits, and liquidity.
  • Ensure that the Bank has adequate liquidity to meet all financial obligations including stress scenarios.
  • Ensure that the Bank meets all regulatory capital adequacy limits and evaluate the impact of proposed initiatives on the Bank’s capital.
  • Manage the Bank’s investment portfolio including evaluation of investment options.
  • Prepare credit applications for counterparty limits.
  • Review pricing on all loan and deposit products and provide approval of special rates on any products.
  • Manage funds transfer pricing (FTP) model.
  • Lead in preparation of the Bank’s capital plan and development of the Bank’s liquidity funding strategy.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by their manager or executives.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

  • Treasury designation (CFA or other recognized designation).
  • Prior experience working in/with financial institutions and management of a treasury department.
  • Prior experience in business performance measurement and management.
  • Good knowledge of Banking and Treasury principles and management.
  • Knowledge of Basel II & III compliance.
  • Experience in analytical and business modelling.
  • The candidate must be able to contribute to the development of an agile, technology-driven financial services firm.
  • The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to contribute to the development of a highly transparent, collaborative, and flat organization.
