The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is a specialized agency with the responsibility for the care and protection of children, especially those who are at risk or have been victims of abuse or neglect.

The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking to recruit for an Training Officer, on contract.

The Training Officer supports employee development and training activities in all areas of the organization. He/She works closely with employees and management to identify training opportunities and facilitate both the creation and delivery of training.

 

Principal Accountabilities/ Key Functions:

  • Designs, develops, and implements learning and development programmes using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

  • Manages and coordinates training sessions, workshops and seminars either in-person or virtually ensuring effective transfer and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate database including training records, attendance, performance data, staff career development.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs for new employees to facilitate a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Promote and support ongoing professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Create training content including presentations e-learning modules and manuals.
  • Manage training budget optimizing resources for maximum impact.
  • Ensure that training programs comply with relevant laws, regulation and industry standards.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys and performance tracking.
  • Evaluate modes of training delivery, such as in-person or virtual, to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, or environmental impacts.
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness.
  • Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
  • Keep up with developments in area of expertise by reading current journals, books, or magazine articles.
  • Select and assign instructors to conduct training.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required to successfully achieve this job function.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Train the Trainer Certificate
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in HR or related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in developing Training Plans will be considered an asset.
