The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative, data entry and logistics support. to ensure accurate, timely and effective delivery of shipments in keeping with the department’s performance objectives.

POSITION PROFILE

The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative, data entry and logistics support. to ensure accurate, timely and effective delivery of shipments in keeping with the department’s performance objectives.   The holder of this position is responsible for:

  • Maintain accurate shipping information and container tracking files 
  • Coordinate with Internal Departments, the Customs Brokers, Shipping lines, Ports and other external agencies
  • Monitor & follow up on imported shipments 
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain & track all shipments (LCL & FCL)
  • Sort & ensure all shipping documents are accurate before sending to broker
  • Check shipping documents against permits to ensure tariffs codes are correct
  • Implement and maintain a proper system to account for all shipping documents given to the customs broker
  • Maintain & update on a daily basis the shipments log for Less than Container load (LCL) &Full Container Load (FCL)
  • Liaise with brokers, shipping lines and other external agencies
  • Accurately prepare and submit import permits on a timely basis to the relevant ministries
  • Support the purchasing team with the applications of permits form the respective Ministries /Agencies.
  • Follow up with the ministries to ensure permits are collected no later than 7 days after submission File purchase orders in their respective folders
  • Follow up with Accounts Department to ensure timely submission of the customs payments
  • Maintain & update on a daily basis the brokers assessment file
  • Provide accurate container reports
  • Follow-up regarding the inbound logistics of all shipments for the company
  • Collaborate with department heads to confirm the status of shipments and estimated time of arrival at the Wearhouse.
  • Act within policy and procedural guidelines in keeping with the AEO Programme
