The Trading Officer will provide administrative support to the trading department, ensuring smooth operations of daily trading activities.

The Trading Officer will provide administrative support to the trading department, ensuring smooth operations of daily trading activities. Key responsibilities include processing trade documentation, entering trade data, reconciling transactions, and preparing reports. The officer will assist in monitoring trade settlements, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration or any other business related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
CERTIFICATION
  • A suitable candidate for licensing by the Financial Services Commission (FSC)
  • Securities certification from a recognized tertiary institution
Functional/ Technical Skills
  • Ability to work independently, initiate and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and a familiarity with the use of Bloomberg.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills to convey information effectively and appropriately depending on the needs of the audience.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of flexibility.
  • Ability to reason to produce reasonable answers to specific problems by applying general rules and by combining pieces of information to form conclusions.
  • Conducts self in a highly ethical and professional manner.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Well-developed human relations skills.
  • Knowledge of key financial instruments (stocks, bonds, options, derivatives) and their market characteristics.
  • Familiarity with document management tools to organize, store, and retrieve trade-related documents and contracts.
Job Responsibilities
  • Process and document trade orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile trade transactions and ensure proper settlement in a timely manner.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Reports include ALCO, IMC, Related Party Clients monthly reports, Bloomberg updates, Bond Run and JCSD statements.
  • Maintain and organize records of all trades in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in resolving trade discrepancies and operational issues with traders, counterparties, and the operations team. 
  • Support the trading team with administrative tasks such as updating the blotters and quarterly client updates
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to trading activities.
  • Entry of trading on the Operating System.
  • Pairing off of securities on the Operating System.
  • Review client orders for accuracy and ensure timely preparation of trade tickets.
  • Preparation of trade tickets for fixed income transactions
