JOB SUMMARY

 

The Trade Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of trade marketing strategies aimed at increasing product visibility and availability, driving sell-in and sell-out, and strengthening relationships with customers and sales teams. The role focuses on in-store excellence, promotional execution, and close collaboration with the sales force.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks to support business operations within the Marketing Department. These will include and is not limited to:

  • Coordinate the planning, execution and reporting of trade marketing activities
  • Oversight of Jamieson Merchandisers in store
  • Manage deployment of POS materials (displays, wobblers, shelf talkers, gondola ends).
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and planograms across outlets.
  • Signage and merchandising management
  • Ensure brand guidelines and promotional standards are correctly implemented in the trade.

 

Merchandising and In Store Excellence

 

  • Work closely with merchandisers to ensure correct product placement, shelf share, and visibility.
  • Conduct store checks and audits to monitor execution quality.
  • Understand the current physical layout of UPML’s top customers, identify existing merchandising and opportunities for the Brand.
  • Oversee the implementation of merchandising plans: planograms and secondary displays.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to execute plan
  • Maintain merchandising to ensure ease of purchase for consumers and Brand presentation quality.
  • Participate in the development and manage strategy for Principals’ involvement and contribution in resourcing merchandising

 

Signage Tracking & Updating:

 

  • Understand the signage objectives for the Brand
  • Understand the universe of signage in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Understand the maintenance requirements on all paid signage and conduct site visits to validate such.
  • Ensure all OOH material is maintained
  • Maintain contracts relating to all signage to ensure renewals are timely.

 

Promotional Planning and Coordination:

  • Understand the outcomes to be achieved through instore promotions
  • Understand customer marketing promotion requirements
  • Oversee and execute all in-store promotions, displays, point-of-sale (POS) materials, and merchandising initiatives at the customer level to ensure success
  • Assist in developing trade promotion plans and promotional calendars.
  • Track promotional timelines to ensure on-time execution in market.
  • Analyse market trends, pricing, and competitor activities.
  • From the execution, make recommendations based on performance, costs and returns
  • Ensure that customer relationships are developed to effectively execute promotions

 

Market & Performance Analysis

  • Collect and analyse promotion results and market feedback to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and merchandising in the trade.
  • Prepare regular reports on trade marketing performance and insight
  • Conduct consumer and consumer satisfaction surveys on trade

 

Other:

  • Ensure all requisitions associated to areas above are completed and the necessary documentation is provided to Finance timely
  • Completion of reports in relation to associated areas above to ensure effectiveness & aid in decision making
  • Perform all other general clerical and administrative duties as needed for the role.

 

EDUCATION & REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing
  • 5 CXC passes, must possess a 1 or 2 in English Language (General Proficiency)
  • 1-3 years practical experience in trade marketing, sales support and coordination
  • Experience in the distribution environments is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
  • The ability to multi-task effectively with minimal supervision
  • The ability to prioritise and show initiative
  • Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Time management skills
  • Must be willing to work weekends where necessary
  • In possession of a good working vehicle
