Tour Desk Operator

 NATURE OF POSITION:

To offer excellent customer service and achieve the excursion sales targets on a weekly basis. We are seeking a full-time tour desk agent to fulfill the needs as required by both clients and supervisory team. Positions are avalable in Trelawny and Lucea. Hours will vary, so applicants must be flexible and adaptable. The position will include but is not limited to :

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent the services and reputation of the company by applying the procedures given during training
• Have great knowledge of tour and excursion products throughout Jamaica
• Establish good contacts with different hotel departments and continue to maintain professional relationships throughout the year
• Offer excellent customer service, be available according to planned schedule, be courteous and promote sales of excursions for the company
• Keep excellent records of reservations, payments and service-related issues. Follow up with supervisor regularly
• Promote excursions and get feedback from customers
• Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and other industry partners
• Make weekly reports and give consistent feedback to supervisors
• Reach the monthly sales target for excursions
• Complete excursion sales, make the voucher and the reservation, take the payment, call in the tours to suppliers and ensure to inform client of necessary details.
• Be creative in sales techniques to maximize revenue for the company and guest satisfaction
• Liquidate sales/payments on a weekly basis with Accounting department

EXIGENCES / QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES:

• Tourism diploma, and/ or 3 years’ customer service experience
• Sales experience-preferably in tourism
• Additional languages are an asset
• Knowledge of MS Office. Proficient with computer operating systems
• Excellent communication abilities
• Adaptability to change, and good at dealing with stress.
• Clean police record (Max 6 months)
• Lap top with MS Office is mandatory
• Car is an asset
