Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Business Optimization and Systems Control team in the capacity of:

Test Analyst 

Support the business requirements for the provision of system testing services.

Identify and subsequently defining the required tests and executing the test coverage..

Support business related test activity.

Location: Kingston

As a Test Analyst, you will:

• Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems.
• Participate in requirements design reviews; perform reviews and traceability analyses to assess test coverage.
• Prepare appropriate test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/approach.
• Lead technical and business testing team members in preparation for and execution of test initiatives in support of assigned projects.
• Execute functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements documentation.
• Participate in re-testing of defects and issues.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain test program schedules and deliverables in accordance with the overall project plan.
• Monitor test results, defects, root cause analysis and identify areas needing improvement.
• Conduct testing using company specific automated processes
• Compile test scenarios and scripts in a structured way, prioritized to reflect business or technical priorities. Scope covers test cycle contents and regression packs.
• Support other test team members and associated IT resources, as appropriate, through the implementation of testing related activities.
• Interfaces with development teams if clarification is needed on requirements.
• Provide guidance on operational processes pertaining to preparation and escalation of Requests for Change (RFCs).
• Review project documents to determine completeness of test execution and quality assurance standards.
• Make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of information, resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum 2 – 3 years of relevant industry and work experience with minimum 1 years testing experience.
• Advanced knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Specialist certifications such as ISTQB Foundation Level Tester, would be an asset.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and tenacity.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Awareness of Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience with manual or automated testing.
• Familiar with test management software, such as JIRA – AIO Tests.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Understanding of common software failures and faults.
• Understanding structured test methods and processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both in the oral and written form, with a wide range of individual.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Committed to professional and ethical standards.
• Confident decision-maker.
