Cashier

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cashier is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external customer while providing direct transaction services to customers, maintaining accuracy, integrity and ensure cashier policies and procedures are followed.

  • Courteously receive all customers and visitors
  • Process daily monetary transactions from customers including cash, credit, cheque and debit cards payments.
  • Calculate and issue accurate change due, receipts and refunds.
  • Reconciles transactions on a daily basis, i.e. cash with sales receipts.
  • Prepare bank lodgments and update the system on a daily basis.
  • Maintains organized file records
  • Prepare and disseminate reports to Supervisor within set periods.
  • Preparing, posting and filing daily cash reports by counting and money in cash drawers at the beginning and the end of shifts to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
  • Assists with other assignments in the department when requested
  • Ensure processed transactions are compliant with company and government regulations.
  • Expeditiously resolve account issues, communicate with all relevant departments and managers to resolve problems.
  • Prepare and process credit notes for customer accounts.

Occupational Health and Safety

  • Report workplace hazards to responsible personnel
  • Collaborate with responsible personnel to ensure your safety hazards that have been reported are resolved swiftly eliminate threats to mitigate against unsafe working conditions for you and team members.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience         

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience
