Temporary Accountants (Financial Services Sector)

Our client is Barbados’ largest general insurance provider, writing business in all areas of general insurance including, Property, Liability, Accident, Motor, Marine, Aviation and Transit Insurance. Due to growth, they are seeking to recruit temporary accountants.

Overview: Our client is Barbados’ largest general insurance provider, writing business in all areas of general insurance including, Property, Liability, Accident, Motor, Marine, Aviation and Transit Insurance. They also offer insurance coverage for Individual and Group Life, Individual and Group Health, Annuities, Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) and Individual and Group Pensions. Due to growth, they are seeking to recruit temporary accountants.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assisted with audit readiness, including preparation of reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Gather and organize audit documentation to support external and internal audit requirements
• Review reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure timely adjustments were recorded
• Support balance sheet reconciliation processes for current accounting periods
• Process and control documentation for finance related cycles
• Enter, update, and maintain financial data using Microsoft Excel and internal accounting systems

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Min BSc. in an Accounting related discipline.
• Part qualified ACCA (level 2) preferred.
• Previous experience working in a corporate environment is essential.
• Proven reconciliation experience.
