Job Summary: 

A Goldstar Credit Collections agent is responsible for executing Credit Collection processes and procedures for our growing business. It requires high-energy, multi-tasking, urgency, attention to detail as well as good phone/email demeanor to build relationships with customers as well as our internal team.  Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

  • Collecting pre-payments, payment/credit card processing, PCI compliance
  • Account reconciliation
  • Credit limit review/assignments
  • Setting up new customers including tax rules
  • Daily invoicing, sending of account statements and credit memos.
  • Review using D&B, credit releasing to meet order-processing deadlines
  • Aging review and collections, large order deposits
  • Credit and Service Request processing
  • Working with internal Goldstar expeditors and Care team members to research issues that may contribute to order in hands dates.
  • Working closely with the Accounts Receivable team
  • Providing credit references
  • Working closely with the Account Payables department of our customers, maintaining open communication, good working relationships with high volume customers for a smooth credit and payment processing.
  • Relationship making and decision-making.
  • Reporting to the Credit and Collections Manager

 Additional Responsibilities: Comply with company policies, safety rules and regulations for personal and as pertaining to other employees. Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.  Report any problems or difficulties to the leadership group.  Assist others/perform other duties when time permits or when so instructed.

 Requirements: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual will be measured and evaluated weekly on the following criteria: sales revenue, quality, productivity, accuracy and backlog. One must contribute to building a positive team spirit by supporting all efforts to be successful. Good attendance will be required. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
  • The ideal candidate will come from a call centre, credit collection or customer service environment.
  • Demonstrate superior telephone skills with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and have excellent e-mail and verbal communication skills. 
  • High school diploma or 4 High School passes (to include English Language and a Math related subject).
  • Familiarization with computer applications such as MS Office suite.
  • High calibre of execution against targets and tasks.
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-volume environment including inbound phone calls, emails, while paying close attention to details.
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Strong Customer Relationship building skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • High energy
  • Excellent phone and email demeanor to build relationships with customers and internal team
  • Must be a team player
