The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is an independent regulatory body, established by the Telecommunications Act 2001 and an act to amend the Telecommunications Act, 2001, with responsibility for the liberalization and regulation of the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. The Authority became operational on 5 th July 2004.
To develop and administer technical standards, policies, and certification criteria governing concessionaires’ networks, services, interconnection, quality of service, tower administration, and telecommunications equipment.
To ensure the highest technical and engineering standards are achieved and maintained in technology introduction, and in the administration of telecommunication operators and service providers.
