Technician, Property Maintenance

The Technician, Property Maintenance will be responsible for preventative and emergency repairs for all HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, devices, appliances and equipment for residential properties and JBIC areas on Jumby Bay.

Technician, Property Maintenance (open to local and OECS candidates)

We are seeking an experienced Technician to support the Property Maintenance team.  The Technician, Property Maintenance will be responsible for preventative and emergency repairs for all HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, devices, appliances and equipment for residential properties and JBIC areas on Jumby Bay.  This role is best suited for individuals with a mixture of skills in HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, combined with the capacity for troubleshooting, problem-solving, preventative maintenance experience and the ability to work flexible hours.

Essential Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Work on a broad variety of electrical systems and applications, high and low voltage, transformers and electronics, HVAC systems, refrigeration, pumps and valves, and motors.
• Install, maintain and repair all electrical wiring, switchgear, appliances, devices and equipment.
• Install, maintain and repair all plumbing related distribution systems, devices and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines and functionality checks.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
• Respond to emergency failures/hazards to minimize downtime and/or safety risks.
• Correctly use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Secondary school degree required Trade school diploma or other certification preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Strong technical experience in diverse trades including HVAC, electricals, appliance repairs and plumbing.

• Ability to deliver high quality results with great attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Keen eye for detail, possessing sharp observational skills, high level of accuracy and a commitment to quality.
• A valid driver’s license and authorization to work in Antigua and Barbuda.

• Broad knowledge in the selection, use and maintenance of hand tools, small power tools and diagnostic electrical equipment
