The Technical Training Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating training needs within ATL Automotive locations.

Technical Training Manager

His /Her responsibility is to work with the Training Manager and other Technical Trainers designing training curriculums and executing programs to Technical or Non-Technical Staff Members.  He / She will work with the various Training Departments for the Brands Regional Team to ensure that all training requirements and goals are met on time. This includes both online and face-to-face training courses. He/ She will also assist with the publication of team member results, improving motivation and cohesiveness across departments, and provide updates on Training and Development programs.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Certified Technical Knowledge on brands represented by ATL.
  • Certified Trainer who can pass on knowledge to team members.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Ability to assess the ATL Automotive group’s training needs and deliver programs.
  • Ability to work with the Regional Head Office Training Departments to ensure manufacturer needs and standards are adhered to.
  • Manage to ensure that target goals set in Business Planning Meetings with manufacturers are met for the year.
  • Organize, along with the Group Training Manager, all travel accommodation needed for overseas training sessions.
  • Competency in following up on issues related to the training and development on all ATL Automotive properties.
  • Good organizational and presentation skills.
  • Eager and willing to learn more to develop personal training skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral effectively and to enforce standards on ATL Automotive properties.
  • Ability to focus on details.
  • Ability to effectively multitask.
  • Excellent documentation and management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions:
Creation and Delivery (Programs):

  • Develop Technical and Non-Technical Customized Training Programs.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and design training programs for new hires.
  • Conduct or organize, and facilitate ongoing technical skills, soft skills, and personal development training for all staff.
  • Train supervisors and managers in techniques/skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • Include appropriate training and resource materials that will aid in the learning experience. These include videos, journals, books, and manuals.
  • Apply cross-training techniques and interdepartmental activities to improve morale, cohesiveness, and understanding of other areas.

Planning and Organizing:

  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing ones.
  • Organizational goals, missions, and visions must be incorporated.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multi-media visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Coordinate and plan training sessions with the team.
  • Obtain information on work-related external courses, prepare reports on their suitability, and make recommendations for team member attendance at training courses.
  • Design individual learning plans for team members (management and non-management).
  • Ensure remedial classes are facilitated for team members (management and non-management) who need it.
  • Work with the Managing Director to ensure that overall productivity and organizational effectiveness are achieved.
  • Work closely with the Administration to ensure team member morale is high.

Assessment/Analysis:

  • Work closely with the After Sales Managers - Training and Service Standards to monitor and improve evaluation and feedback tools (internally and externally).
  • Use customer experience feedback, internal audits, and other customer satisfaction/measurement tools in the assessment of training needs and the improvement of service quality.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing of general standards set by the executive team at all levels on your property (management and non-management).

Internship and Agency Specific:

  • Plan, develop, and manage leadership, management, and agency-specific training programs.
  • Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government and international standards.
  • Coordinate work experience or internship programs with institutions of learning.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with academia.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Education, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and implement technical training programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and e-learning platforms.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to align training initiatives with corporate objectives.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on or supervisory experience in technical/diagnostic automotive work.
  • Demonstrated success in creating training materials and delivering engaging sessions.
  • Experience in evaluating training effectiveness and making data-driven improvements.
