The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s technical products and solutions to existing and prospective customers. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen .

JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s technical products and solutions to existing and prospective customers. This role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and achieve sales targets. The representative will build and maintain strong customer relationships, deliver product demonstrations, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achievement of sales and gross profit targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to promote the company’s products to assigned territory/ market segment to secure new business.
  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls; conduct market research to develop sales leads.
  • Prepares and follow up on quotations.
  • Conduct research on equipment relating to quotation/ tender specification, assist with forecasting based on pipeline sales/tenders
  • Build relationships with existing and new customers, locally and regionally.
  • Visit jobs sites and develop relationships with contractors and project managers as required.
  • Follow the tendering process for large and medium scale projects.
  • Negotiate with foreign suppliers and local contractors on best prices for tendered jobs and ongoing projects.
  • Provide technical options for cost effective solutions aligned to customer and company needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction in terms of delivery, quality products and on time delivery; assists with logistics coordination
  • Ensure proper maintenance of customer Accounts. Liaising with Accounts Receivables & Customers to ensure payments are collected within the specified period. 
  • Work with all parties toward new product Research and Development.
  • Assist in monthly/annual stock taking as required.

QUALIFICIATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in electrical/electronics field with a combination of sales experience.
  • At least 2-5 years’ experience in technical sales, business development or a related role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft GP Dynamics and PowerBi
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service, sales and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • High level of efficiency, precision, accuracy and follow- through
  • Strong organizational and analytical skill; attention detail
  • Self –driven and problem-solving task orientation
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, and technical applications
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear value propositions for customers
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of sales processes, contract negotiation, and business development
